Compliance

Acting with integrity, everywhere we operate

H+H's compliance programme helps our people work in line with the laws and ethical standards of every country we operate in. Beyond mitigating legal and financial risk, compliance protects the legitimate interests of our employees, customers, suppliers, shareholders, and the communities around us.

The foundation

Our Code of Conduct

The Code of Conduct sets the tone for everything else. It defines our business integrity and ethical principles and applies to every H+H employee, regardless of role or location. Specific policies — covering topics like health & safety, fair competition, and anti-corruption — build on top of it.

We also publish a dedicated Code of Conduct for Suppliers, setting out what we expect from the partners we work with.

Focus areas

How our compliance programme works in practice

Responsible use of data and new technologies

As businesses increasingly rely on data science, profiling, and AI, the way data is handled matters more than ever. Our Data Ethics Policy sets the principles for how H+H processes data from customers, employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders — and how we approach emerging technologies like machine learning.

Today, H+H makes only limited use of AI: it supports our cybersecurity defences and powers chatbot tools on our websites. Potential future applications include production and logistics optimisation and marketing automation. We do not buy, sell, or broker data, and we do not profit from data transfers to third parties.

Equality of opportunity, diversity of background

H+H values a diverse workforce and believes in equality of people. We expect every employee to respect the varied backgrounds, skills, and cultures of their colleagues, and we make employment decisions on qualifications alone — without unlawful discrimination. Our Diversity Policy supports this commitment across the group.

At Board level, we follow the Danish Companies Act's gender representation requirements. The Board of Directors currently meets the targets under Section 139c, with three men and two women. Below Board level, H+H International A/S is exempt from setting formal gender targets given its size (fewer than 30 employees), but the principle of equal opportunity applies throughout the group.

Zero Harm

Safety is the most important value at H+H

No one comes to work expecting to go home injured. We take the safety risks inherent in our business seriously and work continuously to create safe, healthy workplaces for our employees, contractors, suppliers, and customers.

Our approach is guided by the Health and Safety Policy and applied through a group-wide safety management system. Near-miss reporting, root-cause analysis, and a combination of internal and external audits help us track progress toward our Zero Harm ambition — and keep improving.

EthicsLine

Speak up — safely and confidentially

Long-term growth depends on integrity. That's why we maintain an open culture where employees, business partners, and other stakeholders can raise concerns about serious misconduct without fear of retaliation.

The first route is always direct — talking to an H+H manager. When that's not possible or doesn't feel safe, EthicsLine is our web-based whistleblower system, hosted by an independent specialist provider. You can report anonymously and communicate with our whistleblower manager through a secure mailbox.

H+H has zero tolerance for retaliation against whistleblowers or witnesses. Retaliation results in disciplinary action up to termination of employment or contract.
